USING SOCIAL SELLING AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TO CUT THROUGH IN A CROWDED MARKETPLACE
Our customer had a number of bricks-and-mortar businesses, and wanted to expand them into the online domain. Unfortunately, there were a number of large and well-established competitors who already had significant digital presence, as well as many small competitors adding to the noise. The market was nearly saturated with similar offerings.
We developed a new approach for the customer. Instead of being just another online shop, we developed a strategy for them to become the first domain-specific social network in their sector.
The solution was built using our Hive Social Selling Kit, which in turn is built on the Voodoo Framework. Hive is a fully-featured social network similar to Facebook, but designed for specific interest groups. As well as interacting with each other, Hive members can interact with products, their producers and users.
As well as providing a destination for the community interested in our customers products, Hive also enables users to nominate a charity who will receive a percentage of the money they spend. By choosing charities that align with the community’s interest, we were able to build a platform that, as well as giving users a sense of community, also gave them a positive view of that community.
The platform has allowed a new entrant into a crowded space to build a successful digital business and a loyal and engaged community.
